Google Places – The place your business should be

If you can only do one new marketing activity this week – claim your business' Google Places listing. The search engine launched Google Places nationwide in November and it now reorganizes the way users see their search results. You now have an opportunity to drive local traffic to your website for little or no cost. As 97% of consumers use online media when researching products or services in their local area – a website for a business is a must and Google Places is like an online version of the free local Yellow Pages only it connects consumers to your website without having to use expensive search engine optimization (SEO). Groupon Now – The new face of local advertising

Let’s face it – When you heard that Groupon turned down a $6 billion offer from Google you had to think – Pigs get fat but hogs get slaughtered. Groupon definitely appeared to be in the hog class. Come on, Groupon is not an extraordinary service – it’s just a local email list with offers from various companies that are drastically reduced in price with Groupon getting about half the price. Sure it is a way to get customers to sample a new companies offering but the question remains will they return when the offer expires or wait it out for the next deal of the day from another company with a better offer?
Groupon is the number one provider of online daily discounts and has over 70 million subscribers anxiously awaiting the deal of the day in their email box in 550 markets around the world. Use customer testimonials so prospects buy now!

If you are like many online shoppers, when you contemplate purchasing an item from a retailer's website, you look for that link that says "customer reviews". A recent industry study by AMP Agency found that 72% of survey respondents reported that they rely on general consumer reviews when it comes to seeking information on product performance. By clicking the link and reading the reviews, you know you are getting buyers' honest experiences with that product. If the reviews are positive, you have more confidence hitting the "buy" button. A customer testimonial in your marketing materials can have this same end result for your business. Use testimonials the right way and have more prospects buy your product or service. Read more...
